Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 11, 2026
HAILEN SOFT TECH INC. (“Hailen”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Nola website at nola.sh and the Nola Platform at platform.nola.sh.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our websites or use the Nola Platform.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the Nola website at
nola.sh; - the Nola Platform at
platform.nola.sh; - Nola APIs and other hosted services operated by HAILEN SOFT TECH INC.; and
- communications you send to us relating to Nola.
The Nola programming language and related open-source software may be used locally without sending personal information to us. This Privacy Policy applies to information that is actually transmitted to or processed by services operated by HAILEN SOFT TECH INC.
Third-party services, websites, inference providers, and software may have their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Nola.
2.1 Website and Technical Information
When you visit our websites or access our services, we may automatically receive technical information such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device type;
- operating system;
- referring pages;
- pages or endpoints accessed;
- timestamps;
- request and response metadata;
- diagnostic information; and
- security and fraud-prevention signals.
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our websites and services.
2.2 Account Information
When you create or claim a Nola Platform account, we may receive information such as:
- name;
- email address;
- account identifier;
- authentication-provider identifier; and
- other profile information provided through our authentication service.
Authentication may be provided through third-party services such as Auth0.
2.3 API and Usage Information
When you use the Nola Platform, we may process information associated with your use of the service, including:
- API key or credential identifiers;
- account identifier;
- selected model or inference provider;
- request timestamps;
- usage and token information;
- credit consumption;
- request status;
- errors and diagnostics; and
- information needed to detect abuse or enforce service limits.
We may use this information for billing, service operation, rate limiting, security, troubleshooting, and usage reporting.
2.4 Inference Content
When you use Nola Platform inference services, information you submit may include:
- prompts;
- instructions;
- source code;
- application data;
- function arguments;
- contextual information;
- schemas and type definitions; and
- other content included in an inference request.
We refer to this information as “Inference Content.”
Inference Content may be transmitted through Nola infrastructure and to the third-party infrastructure or model provider necessary to complete the requested inference.
You are responsible for determining whether the information you submit to Nola Platform is appropriate to send to an AI service and for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit it.
We do not claim ownership of your Inference Content merely because you process it through Nola Platform.
3. AI and Inference Providers
Nola Platform may route inference requests to third-party AI model providers.
Depending on the model, configuration, or service you select, your Inference Content and related request metadata may therefore be processed by one or more third-party providers.
Those providers may process information in jurisdictions outside Canada and may be subject to their own contractual terms, privacy practices, and legal obligations.
We encourage users who process confidential, personal, regulated, or otherwise sensitive information to review the applicable model provider’s terms and privacy practices before using that provider.
The playground at nola.sh/playground runs the code you write in your own browser. When you press Run, the model request that code produces is sent through our servers to Cerebras Systems, Inc. (the hosted inference provider for the playground) and the reply is returned to your browser. We do not store the contents of playground requests or replies; we keep a daily count of runs per network address, stored as a one-way hash, to enforce the free-run limit. Do not paste confidential or personal information into the playground.
4. Payments
Payments for Nola Platform may be processed by Stripe.
When you purchase credits or other paid services, Stripe may collect payment information such as:
- payment card information;
- billing address;
- country;
- transaction information; and
- information used for fraud prevention.
Payment card details submitted through Stripe are processed by Stripe. We may receive transaction information, payment status, customer identifiers, billing information, and other information necessary to manage your Nola Platform balance and purchases.
We do not need to receive or store your complete payment card number or card security code when payment information is collected directly by Stripe.
5. How We Use Information
We may use information collected through Nola to:
- provide and operate Nola Platform;
- authenticate users;
- process inference requests;
- route requests to AI providers;
- maintain API keys and accounts;
- calculate and display usage;
- manage free usage and paid credits;
- process payments;
- provide customer support;
- diagnose errors and service failures;
- protect Nola and its users from abuse, fraud, and security threats;
- enforce usage limits and our Terms of Service;
- maintain and improve the reliability and performance of our services;
- understand aggregate usage of our websites and services;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- communicate important service, security, billing, or policy updates.
We will not use personal information for materially different purposes without providing appropriate notice or obtaining consent where required by applicable law.
6. Service Providers
We use third parties to help operate Nola.
These may include:
- Cloudflare — infrastructure, networking, security, and AI request routing;
- Auth0 / Okta — authentication and identity management;
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention;
- AI model and inference providers — processing inference requests; and
- other infrastructure, monitoring, communication, or security providers necessary to operate the service.
These providers may process information on our behalf or, depending on the service, under their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
We may update the providers we use as Nola Platform evolves.
7. International Processing
HAILEN SOFT TECH INC. is a Canadian company, but Nola and its service providers operate using infrastructure that may be located in Canada, the United States, or other countries.
As a result, personal information and Inference Content may be processed or stored outside your province, territory, or country of residence.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, national-security authorities, or other governmental authorities where permitted by applicable law.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary to:
- maintain authentication sessions;
- provide security features;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- remember service preferences; and
- operate Nola Platform.
We may also use privacy-oriented website analytics to understand aggregate website usage and improve Nola.
Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will request that consent before using them.
9. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information:
- to service providers that help us operate Nola;
- to the AI provider selected or required to process an inference request;
- when you direct or authorize us to do so;
- when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- to protect the rights, property, security, or safety of HAILEN SOFT TECH INC., our users, or others;
- when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful government request; or
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining required business and financial records, resolving disputes, protecting against fraud or abuse, and complying with legal obligations.
Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
Account, billing, transaction, security, and compliance records may need to be retained after an account is closed when required for legitimate business or legal purposes.
We aim to minimize the retention of Inference Content and other information that is not necessary for operating the service.
Third-party inference providers and other service providers may have their own retention practices. Their handling of information may depend on the provider, service, model, or configuration being used.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.
No internet-based service or information-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your Nola credentials and API keys. You should not share API keys publicly or commit them to public source-code repositories.
If you believe a Nola credential has been compromised, you should revoke or replace it as soon as possible.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law and your location, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions;
- request deletion of certain information where applicable; and
- raise a concern or complaint about our privacy practices.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a privacy request.
To exercise your privacy rights, contact us at privacy@nola.sh.
13. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Nola Platform account by contacting us at privacy@nola.sh or through account-management functionality if available.
Deleting an account does not necessarily require us to immediately delete information that we must retain for legal, financial, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
Information retained after account deletion will remain subject to this Privacy Policy for as long as we retain it.
14. Children’s Privacy
Nola Platform is intended for developers and other professional or technical users and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age permitted to provide consent under applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, contact us at privacy@nola.sh.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
Nola may contain links to third-party websites, repositories, documentation, model providers, or other services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that operate independently from HAILEN SOFT TECH INC.
You should review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
16. Open-Source Nola Software
The Nola programming language and related software may be distributed under an open-source license.
Installing, modifying, or running the open-source Nola software locally does not, by itself, mean that HAILEN SOFT TECH INC. receives your source code or other information.
However, when you configure Nola software to communicate with Nola Platform or another hosted service, information included in those requests will be transmitted to the relevant service.
If you configure Nola to communicate directly with a third-party provider rather than Nola Platform, that provider’s privacy practices apply to the information sent directly to it.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Nola evolves, our service providers change, or applicable laws and regulations change.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this Policy.
If changes materially affect how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice through Nola Platform, by email, or through another appropriate method.
